Sunset Cosmetic Surgery – Home to Beverly Hills
and Los Angeles Arm Liposuction and Lifts
Those living in the Beverly Hills area looking for
plastic surgeons to perform arm liposuction or lifts can visit our
Los Angeles office. The plastic surgeons, Drs. Svehlak & Yamini,
are able to sculpt the arms in two ways:
Liposuction - If the skin has decent elasticity,
the excess fat can be removed via liposuction.
Brachioplasty - If the skin has little elasticity
and there is significant excess skin, aplastic surgeon can perform
an arm lift or Brachioplasty. If the skin has little elasticity,
and there is significant excess skin, an arm lift, or Brachioplasty,
can be performed. Scars are the greatest drawback of this operation
and will extend from the armpit to mid-way down the ar, or all the
way to the elbow. This operation exchanges one cosmetic problem
(loose skin) for another (scars). In general, those with extremely
saggy skin are find this exchange worthwhile.
Typical Recovery Time After Arm Liposuction: The first day
after your arm liposuction procedure, you will be groggy from the
anesthesia and pain medications. Patients may be asked to wear a
compression garment after their surgery to help reduce swelling
and post-operative discomfort. Swelling and bruising continually
get better with time, but are most noticeable in the frist 1-2 weeks.
Most patients are back to work in about a week and can resume moderate
physical activity after several weeks to their comfort level.
Typical Recovery Time After Arm Lift or Brachioplasty:
The first day after your arm lift procedure, you will be groggy
from the anesthesia and pain medications. Patients typically wear
banadages in the days following surgery. Swelling (and sometimes
bruising) continually get better with time, but are most noticeable
in the frist 1-2 weeks. Most patients are back to work in about
a week and can resume moderate physical activity after several weeks
to their comfort level. Final results occur in about 6 months after
the scars have matured.
