What Is The BRAVA Protocol?

The Science Behind BRAVA

BRAVA is a soft, gel-like bra that externally expands breast tissue. Consisting of two semi-rigid domes with silicone-gel rims, a SmartBox, and a sports bra that helps keep the device in place. BRAVA is worn for a few weeks, 10 to 12 hours a day, to help expand the breast tissue and create a recipient lattice for the fat graft prior to the grafting procedure.

The SmartBox contains a sensor that regulates pressure, a vacuum that gently removes air, and a mini computer that uploads your data to the BRAVA website where you and your doctor can track your progress. After a few weeks of wearing BRAVA your doctor will micro-graft fat harvested by gentle liposuction from your thighs, buttocks or stomach. Since the BRAVA Protocol uses your own body’s tissue, this clinical study is best suited for patients who require breast reconstruction, or patients who want enhanced breast size but don’t want the risks associated with breast implant surgery, or breast reconstruction.

In order for the procedure to work, there must be enough body fat available to extract for the grafting process; and patients shouldn’t have ptosis (droopiness) of the breasts.

How Long Does The Process Take?

The BRAVA Protocol Clinical Study is a gradual process that takes, on average, anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks to complete. The longer you wear BRAVA, the larger your recipient breast tissue becomes to contain the fat graft, and sometimes more than one treatment is required.
