Los Angeles eyelid surgery
(blepharoplasty) is a procedure performed to remove fat and excess skin from the upper and
lower eyelids. This procedure can correct
drooping upper lids and puffy bags below the eyes, which allow eyelid surgery Los Angeles patients look more alert, youthful and less tired. Blepharoplasty
will not remove crow's feet or eliminate dark circles under
the eyes, nor will it lift sagging eyebrows (a brow
lift will help with a sagging brow). This procedure can be done in an operating room with general anesthesia, or, in cases where only the upper lids are being done, may be done on an outpatient basis at our office using local anesthetic.
Typical Recovery Time for Los Angeles Eyelid Surgery
After eyelid surgery Los Angeles patients are instructed to keep their head elevated for several days. A cool compress can help reduce swelling and bruising. Bruising
varies from person to person with this
procedure: it reaches its peak during the first week. While everyone is different, most patients feel comfortable stepping out in public after the first week of recovery, though minor residual puffiness or bruising may still be present. You can view the healing process of a Los Angeles eyelid surgery patient who had her upper lids done to get a better idea of how it looks as it heals. Stitches are usually removed
2-7 days after surgery. Once they're removed, the swelling and discoloration
around the eyes will gradually subside. Most patients need to avoid
contact lenses for about 2 weeks.

the bags and smooth out the area. Some subtle fat grafting
was also done under the eyes and to the cheek area.
