Q: What is Juvederm?
Juvederm Los Angeles is a FDA approved injectable cosmetic filler that is made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that naturally occurs in the human body which helps to hydrate and add volume to the skin. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has also been used for more than 20 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement, as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair..

Unlike previously available HA fillers, results with Juvederm can last up to one year. Juvederm works to restore volume, reduce sagging and smooth visible wrinkles in the face.

Q: What kind of results does Los Angeles Juvederm offer?
Juvederm is an injectable gel that  adds volume and firmness to the face and reduces fine lines and wrinkles for up to one year after treatment. Allergan's manufacturing process gives the gel a high concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which means long-lasting results. The smooth consistency of the gel flows easily into the skin and provides a natural-looking result and feel. Other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers currently on the market are made of granular consistency gels.

Q: Can any skin tone or type use Juvederm?
Sunset's Los Angeles Juvederm services are an effective treatment for any skin type or skin tone. Studies with JUVÉDERM as reported by Allergan showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of any color.

Q: Should I avoid anything after getting a Juvederm treatment?
You should avoid the following for at least 24 hours after treatment:

- Strenuous exercise
- Consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Extended exposure to sun or heat

Exposure to any of the above may cause temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection sites. If there is swelling, an ice pack over the swollen area can help. Be sure to report any redness and/or visible swelling that lasts for more than a few days, or any other symptoms that cause you concern, to your doctor immediately.

Q: Who should use Juvederm? Who Shouldn't?
Sunset's Los Angeles Juvederm services are an effective treatment for anyone who would like to reduce the appearance of mild to severe folds and facial wrinkles. Los Angeles Juvederm also corrects deep expression lines, such as smile lines and frown lines.

Your physician will ask about your medical history to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for treatment. Juvederm should not be used in patients who have:

• Severe allergies with a history of anaphylaxis or history or
presence of multiple severe allergies

• Patients with a history of allergies to Gram-positive bacterial proteins

Other important considerations for you to discuss with your physician and understand in order to help avoid unsatisfactory results and complications:

• Patients who are using substances that can prolong bleeding, such as
aspirin or ibuprofen, as with any injection, may experience increased
bruising or bleeding at the injection site. You should inform your
physician before treatment if you are using these types of substances

• If laser treatment, chemical peeling, or any other procedure based
on active dermal response is considered after treatment with
JUVÉDERM™ Ultra injectable gel, there is a possible risk of an
inflammatory reaction at the treatment site

• JUVÉDERM™ Ultra injectable gel should be used with caution in patients
on immunosuppressive therapy, or therapy used to decrease the body’s
immune response, as there may be an increased risk of infection

• The safety of JUVÉDERM™ Ultra injectable gel for use during
pregnancy, in breastfeeding females, or in patients under 18 years
has not been established

• The safety of JUVÉDERM™ Ultra injectable gel in patients with a
history of excessive scarring (eg, hypertrophic scarring and keloid
formations) and pigmentation disorders has not been studied
