Juvederm is a dermal filler treatment that is made with hyaluronic acid to smooth and plump sagging and aging skin. Los Angeles Juvederm is considered safe for most people since hyaluronic acid is a natural ingredient that exists in the body. For anyone interested in Juvederm in Los Angeles, it is important to consult with an experienced physician beforehand to determine if it is a safe and effective treatment based on the patient's medical history.

For most, side effects from Juvederm are minimal and are considered mild or moderate in nature. Any side effects that do occur are usually gone in 7 days or less. The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injections site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of infection.

Juvederm is not recommended for those with severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or history or presence of multiple severe allergies. Further, patients with a history of allergies to Gram-positive bacterial proteins should not receive treatment.

Other important considerations to tell your doctor before treatment to avoid any complications:

If you are currently using supplements or medications that may prolong bleeding, such as aspirin or ibuprofen

  • If you have very thin or fragile skin, or, you've recently had any type of laser treatment, chemical peel, or any other procedure on your face.
  • If you are on immunosuppressive therapy, or therapy used to decrease the body’s
    immune response
  • If you may be pregnant or are currently breastfeeding
  • If you have a history of excessive scarring

The majority of people over 18 who come in to see us for treatment are ideal candidates for Los Angeles Juvederm since it is non-allergenic.

For the safest and most effective results, find a board certified plastic surgeon who has been using Juvederm for at least several years. Nobody wants to be the "test patient" for a doctor who may be trained to offer it, but who lacks experience. Patients will receive the best results from Los Angeles Juvederm by having realistic expectations from the treatment and understand that the results will last for up to one year, but vary on a case-by-case basis depending on a variety of factors such as age, smoking habits, skin condition and severity of facial lines and folds.
