Safely Rejuvenate Your Skin with Portrait
Clinically proven to stimulate a natural regenerative process of the skin, Portrait delivers millisecond pulses of nitrogen plasma (hot gas) to the skin’s surface. The plasma heating targets the: 1. Skin Surface—At higher settings, the plasma treatment will treat aged and sun-damaged surface skin, with fresher, newer skin revealed in one to two weeks. 2. Deep Dermis—The heating will stimulate deeper skin collagen production and allow newer, refreshed, more elastic skin to emerge over several months. This technology offers unparalleled improvement in the appearance of aging and damaged skin, including wrinkle reduction, skin tightening, and improved skin tone and texture. Even better, it does it all with predictable downtime and little to no risk of hyperpigmentation, scarring, discoloration, or other complications associated with other, more aggressive treatments. What is unique to this technology is that, unlike laser treatments that vaporize the skin surface and leave exposed deep skin, Portrait Plasma allows the surface skin to remain intact as a natural wound/skin barrier until it is ready to slough and peel days later. After receiving Portrait® Plasma skin rejuvenation treatments, you will experience some pain and discomfort. You should be able to control the pain by using common, over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol or Advil on a consistent basis. For at least one week post-surgery, please do not use any creams, oils, lotions, or makeup on the area treated except for products specifically approved with your doctor. You may return to work as soon as the next day following treatment as long as you do not work outdoors. However, be mindful that your skin will still feel irritated and be visibly red (like a bad sunburn) for a few days following treatment. The redness will fade to a more brassy color as the days go by. You may feel more comfortable returning to work once the redness has dulled and the pain has subsided completely. It is important to avoid excess sun exposure for one month following treatment. Do not stay out in the sun for extended periods of time and always you protect your skin with sunscreen when you are outdoors. Be sure to pick a gentle sunscreen with an SPF of at least 35+.
