Procedure: This a young woman with familial or hereditary loose and hanging neck which makes her appear older. She desired to have a very defined and youthful neck and jawline. Surgery involved a lower facelift to lift the facial and neck muscles as well as a platysmaplasty which requires a small incision under the chin to tighten and lift the skin and muscles directly under the chin. The procedure requires general anesthesia and a 4 hour surgery with 3 weeks of recovery.
