Unlike the older, more traditional breast lift or augmentation that requires implants to shape the dream bustline, you can now look forward to more natural breast augmentation, through fat grafting in LA with Dr. Svehlak and Dr. Yamini.

What Is Fat Transfer?

Breast fat grafting is the process where gentle liposuction is used to remove fat from other areas of your body, to augment the breast. This fat is processed to remove excess fluids and retain only the quality fat particles that can be transplanted into the breast.

For breast fat grafting at Los Angeles’ Sunset Cosmetic Surgery, we use the laterst technolofies for fat preparation. One is PureGraft, which is the latest generation of a fat collection and processing system designed for fat transplanting. The doctors then use special cannulas to inject the fat via a few small micro-incisions that are virtually invisible once healed. Both of these procedures are performed on the same day, taking approximately three to four hours total.This can be done either under general anesthesia and sometimes under local anesthesia.

In some cases, the BRAVA® Protocol that externally expands breast tissue is used by patients prior to breast fat grafting. The device is worn for 10 to 12 hours a day, for a few weeks, to help expand the breast and create a recipient lattice for the fat graft prior to the grafting procedure.

This is a 29 year old female from Los Angeles, CA, who wanted more fullness in her breasts but did not want breast implants.  She also wanted more fullness in her buttocks.

Dr. Svehlak performed a Benelli breast lift (Donut Mastopexy) with autologous fat transfer to both breasts. Some of her fat was also transferred to her buttocks as a Brazilian Butt Lift.

He harvested fat from various areas with body contouring and liposuction of her arms, abdominal wall, flanks, upper and lower back, inner and outer thighs, and knees.  270cc of fat was transferred to the right breast and 210cc was transferred to the left breast.

The patient was happy with her new, impant-free breast size.

This is a 38 year old female from Hacienda Heights, CA, who wanted more fullness in her breasts but did not want breast implants. She was not concerned about the asymmetry. She only wanted slightly fuller breasts.

Dr. Svehlak performed autologous fat transfer to both breasts.  He harvested fat from her abdominal wall, flanks, lower back, inner and outer thighs, and knees.  205cc of fat was transferred to the right breast and 100cc was transferred to the left breast. The after photo shows more fullness with some improvement in symmetry. She stated her cup size increased nearly a full cup size. Some her fat was also transferred to her buttocks as a Brazilian Butt Lift.

The patient was happy with her new, implant-free breast size.

This patient wanted a breast lift without implants, so Dr. Svehlak, a Los Angeles area plastic surgeon, used a breast uplift only with fat transfer. The after photo is only two weeks post-op which shows some bruises and swelling. The patient is very happy with her new, implant-free breast size.

Recovery After Breast Fat Transfer In LA

Recovery time from breast grafting at Sunset Cosmetic Surgery varies depending on how many areas are used for fat donor sites. Like typical liposuction, these donor sites may be swollen, bruised, and uncomfortable for several days. Your breasts will experience some swelling and bruising, but little pain.

Most patients return to work in a few days (for small cases) or in about two weeks (if more extensive liposuction is performed). You may begin your regular exercise routine in 10 to 14 days or as soon as your body has healed from the liposuction. Bruising and swelling can last up to three weeks, but all swelling should be gone in four to six months.
