If you are considering a facelift (aka face lift), some common questions about facelift recovery are:
- What will I look like right after my facelift?
- When will I look OK to go out in public after my facelift?
- How long does facelift recovery last?
- How bad is the bruising?
- What will my incisions look like while I’m healing?
The photos on this page show various stages of a facelift recovery to illustrate the healing process. When done by a highly skilled board certified plastic surgeon, a facelift should look good in weeks, not months. Most patients schedule two weeks to recover from their facelifts, and normally resume moderate activity at 3 weeks. This patient had a lower face and neck lift (traditionally called a facelift), an endoscopic browlift, upper blepharoplasty (upper eyelid surgery) and facial fat grafting. A video featuring this patient is located on the right side of this page. This face lift and other procedures were performed by Dr. Daniel Yamini, double board certified plastic surgeon in Los Angeles.

Surgery was on a Thursday and these were taken the following Tuesday. Above (4 photos): Facelift healing photos taken 6 days after surgery. Surgery was on a Thursday and these were taken the Wednesday following. The yellow colors are her bruises as they heal. Notice how clean and tight her incisions are around her ears. This is the mark of a well done facelift since they will heal up nicely and be well hidden. Above (2 photos): These photos were taken 8 days after surgery. Above (2 photos): These photos were taken 12 days (less than 2 weeks) after surgery. Above (4 photos): These photos were taken one month after surgery.
