The Sunset Difference: A Better Belly Button Surgery

If you’ve always had an “outie” but dreamed of having an “innie” or you suffer from a belly button hernia, belly button surgery (technically known as Umbilicoplasty) is a relatively simple procedure that can make a world of difference for those who are conscious about their navels.

In most cases, Dr. Yamini and Dr. Svehlak can re-shape and revise belly buttons using only local anesthesia, meaning less time in the operating room and a faster recovery for patients.

Typical Recovery Time

The first day after your umbilicoplasty procedure, you may be sore and some swelling and bruising may occur (depending on the type or revision done) and it will continually get better over the following 1-2 weeks. Most patients are back to work in a matter of days, and can resume moderate physical activity after a week or two to their comfort level.

Complementary Procedures

Following the recovery period from a belly button surgery, some patients may choose to take advantage of Sunset’s Emsculpt machine, a non-invasive way to tighten and tone the muscle around a newly-repaired belly-button (aka the abs).
