I keep hearing the words “Non-Surgical…”

It’s 2017. The world of beauty is not the same as it was in our mother or grandmother’s generation. In fact, we are living in the most exciting time for cosmetic enhancement. Major companies are literally funding millions of dollars worth of research and development, science and technology. This combination is to give us, the consumer more options than ever before.

The term non-surgical is used more and more now than ever because people are looking for less expensive, less invasive ways to achieve their aesthetic goals. Plumper lips? No problem, we have a quick and easy Juvederm injection for that. Want to get rid of those 11 lines passed down from your dad’s side? Botox them away! Always wanted a more round booty? Sculptra your way there in the comfort of your plastic surgeon’s injection room without going under anesthesia.

The newest theory for correcting and adding volume to areas of the body is the same as the face; inject a substance to either mimic collagen or build it. Granted, there are pros and cons to this treatment, just as there are with undergoing surgery for the same results.

What are the pros and cons?

The pro’s of non-surgical body enhancements are based on new and minimal research, which can actually be a con as well if you look at the glass half empty. On the one hand, you’re able to essentially “try out” your new look.

How do I feel with a bigger booty or fuller hips?

Within three years the collagen building effects of the Sculptra injections will have dissolved. At this point you can decide whether or not you want to go through the procedure again or undergo a more permanent option; surgery.

The cons are that the results are not permanent and the procedure takes quite a bit of time, costs A LOT, and requires a VERY skilled injector. Let me specify…A SKILLED, EXPERIENCED AND QUALIFIED INJECTOR. Meaning, not going to just any med-spa, salon or injector. This can end up hurting your pockets and your results. Don’t even risk it. Spend the money, do your research and be confident in your choice.

Where can I see an example of Sculptra body contouring and what exactly is it?

Right here! Dr. Svehlak recently treated a patient wanting to fill the slight hollows on the sides of her buttocks, just under her hips with a series of quick and painless Sculptra Injections. Sculptra is made of synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is a biocompatible, biodegradable substance that is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and commonly found in dissolvable stitches. The idea is, we inject this solution and the body reacts to it by building it’s own collagen (aka volume) in the area. You can see here that our patient Suzy is fully awake, alert and not in any pain while Dr. Svehlak injects her right side. See for yourself is this procedure is right for you!
