    Typical Recovery Time

Your new skin will be a bit swollen, sensitive, and bright pink for several weeks. You can slowly resume most of your usual activities during this time and can expect to be back at work in about two weeks. More active sports, especially ball sports or those where you may get hit in the face, should be avoided for four to six weeks. Swimmers need to stick to indoor venues to avoid sun and wind, and keep their face out of chlorinated water for at least a month. The most important thing to remember after dermabrasion is to protect your skin from the sun.
